Birth

Childbirth is an exciting time. Your baby is about to be born and the first meeting will take place.

The choice of the place of delivery is entirely up to you, provided everything is medically in order. The most important thing is that you choose the place where you and your partner feel relaxed, after all, that's where you like it best.

If you have any doubts about the place of delivery, you can of course always discuss this with us.

Due date

At the beginning of the pregnancy, an ultrasound is made to determine the due date. The due date corresponds to the 40th week of pregnancy. This does not have to be the day of delivery. Delivery takes place, if all goes well, between the 37th and 42nd week of pregnancy. Your unborn baby is then fully grown and ready to be born.

Preterm birth

There is talk of a premature birth if your baby is born before the 37th week of pregnancy. This is also known as prematurity.

If your baby is born prematurely, it will require extra care. This depends on the term in which your baby was born and the condition of your baby. Your newborn baby will then have to stay in the hospital temporarily.

About time

If the delivery does not start on the due date, your baby may be born up to two weeks after the due date, so with a maximum of 42 weeks of pregnancy. A gestational age of 42 weeks or more is called serotinity. When you are running late, it is important to be alert to child movements. If the labor does not start spontaneously before the 42nd week, the labor will be induced in the hospital.
